The talk will introduce the concept of nuclear data and provide an overview of the nuclear data cycle. It will serve as well as an introduction of all the topics to be addressed during the entire school:
- Definition of nuclear data.
- Types of nuclear data with examples.
- What is an evaluated nuclear data library?
- Brief introduction of the ENDF format: MF and MT numbers (a few examples).
- Description of the process from the experiment to the evaluated nuclear data files.
