Astroparticle physics is a fast-evolving field involving contributions from a broad set of disciplines, such as astrophysics, high energy physics, information and communication technologies, engineering and geophysics. The successful installation and operation of the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina in the 00s' opened new opportunities for this field in Latin America. Since then, diverse initiatives have been starting across the region. In this talk, I will present two of the larger observatories operating and growing in Latin America: the Pierre Auger Observatory and the Latin American Giant Observatory (LAGO), in which CIEMAT is directly involved, and our related developments in astroparticles interaction simulations, muon tomography (muography) of large structures and in the ANDES underground laboratory.
