Description
We'll report on the development of a high time-resolution optical intensity-interferometry system based on SPAD arrays. Two existing 512×1 SPAD Linospad2 detector chips were used to validate the instrument architecture, including spectrometer, wavelength multiplexing, correlator performance and clock synchronization. A set of 4 FPGA boards achieves a synchronization precision of approximately 20 ps RMS, enabling accurate correlation measurements across multiple spectral channels on two chips in a zero-baseline configuration. These tests provide a platform for characterizing the complete acquisition pipeline ahead of the commissioning of a newly fabricated QUASAR1 chip featuring an array of 528x16 SPADs with integrated TDCs and readout electronics.
