Description
Quantum-assisted astrometry is a promising new technique to reach high resolution observations in optical. Akin to the Hanbury Brown-Twiss effect, this approach utilizes two photons as well but from two sky objects, preserving the phase information and opening new ways to do astrometry. In our lab in Prague, we are working towards first demonstration of this technique with sky objects by utilizing SPAD cameras with 256 channels and 40 ps (rms) timing resolution. We present our latest results from the lab, including high spectral multiplexing of the HBT effect measurement near the Heisenberg-Gabor limit, first portable spectrometer ready to deploy in the field, and possible ways to improve the spectral resolution even further.
